About Us

Historical Research Partners was started in October 2004 by wife and husband team, Lisa Yako and Bradley Blackwell.   Both Lisa and Bradley are trained and published research scientists. Lisa received degrees from The Ohio State University and University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  Bradley received his degrees from North Carolina State University and University of Maine.  After the purchase of their own historic home (circa 1883), they began researching its past and eventually compiled their findings into a treasured document that contained old photographs of their house, interviews with past residents, and a history of the structure itself.  That endeavor lead Lisa and Bradley to apply their research skills and love of historic homes into a family business.

We are a member of the following organizations: Huron Chamber of Commerce, Huron Historical Society, Great Lakes Historical Society, and Huron's Old Plat Association.

Though based in Huron, Ohio, Historical Research Partners offer their services beyond Erie County, Ohio, into Huron, Ottawa, Lorain, Sandusky, Cuyahoga, and Seneca counties in Ohio. Genealogy services are currently limited to Erie and Huron counties.  Special arrangements can be made if you live outside of our primary area serviced.
